Florida Fur and Leather maintains a large well equipped department for
repairs and alterations of furs and leather wear. We have been extremely
challenged with fur alterations caused by the new interest in smaller
furs such as mini jackets and vests. We also create fur trim for pants
and jackets. Because a fur is resilient and lasting it can be updated
and restyled to the latest fashion. Some recent fur restyling performed
include the following: convert jacket to vest – shorten coat to jacket –
convert coat to throw – convert stole to fling – alter old fashioned
notch collar to new style – shorten/lengthen sleeves. We also reline fur
jackets and coats. The most challenging item recently completed was a
doghouse made of fox, mink and lamb pieces.
We pride ourselves in our almost invisible
leather tear repair. We also install snaps and zippers. Leather
alterations include shortening of hems and sleeves. We have a heavy-duty
sewing machine for repairs of bikers wear, saddlebags and other extra
thick leather items.
